What's Your Secret Sauce?

Describe five ways in which you think you have human capital that is truly unique (in no particular order).

I am ambitious with everything I believe in, to a point where I will not only chase my dreams but hunt them down. I believe people can be destined for greatness by being the first to see it in themselves before anyone else would, I believe in humble origins and how obstacles have no bearing in reaching a final destination, and I believe in sheer willpower. All in all, I wish with all I've got and don't let things like 'practicality' and 'the unfavorable odds' bog me down.

I'm smart. Not just knowledgeable in intellect, but cunning, resourceful, intuitive, and quick on my feet. I'm so very curious, one would say 'too much for your own good' except I don't believe that you can ever be too eager to learn and adapt. I'm skilled in the art of winning arguments like nobody's business, and I use it excessively for what beliefs I want to back. I think outside the box and always reach the same sought-after solution in a different way from how others would go about getting to the same answer. I never seem to take the 'normal' approach to solving puzzles. I have in part my creativeness to thank for that--speaking of which:

I'm creative. Artistic, more like. I paint, draw, write, read, create, sing, dance, etc, etc, etc. People always tell me I have a gift to produce such quality of things in such time, and maybe I should actually listen to their praise and take it to heart. My creativity has me look at the world in a very different way in the littlest most random of things, and when I share my insights, my little quirks spark such interest in other people hearing them ("Wow, I never thought of it that way!" and "I never noticed that. Guess I took it for granted/so caught up in my own world to just stop and notice" or "You collect those? But... why?" and of course "Haha, you're so weird! Cute, but strange."). It also helps me liven up even the most mundane of circumstances. Chores get done much faster when you sing to them in character impressions!

My personality. This one really needs to be higher up in the list. My humor in public compensates for my bitter truthfulness and I think the sass is overlooked by my constant smiling and giggling. Basically I'm a grumpy person's worst nightmare dumped in glitter and hot sauce (I don't even know what that means so please don't ask). I look really soft but I'm super confident and ready to stand up for people or just spruce up someone's day using the most extravagant of behavioral displays.

People skills: for some projects either I have em or I don't. It's a hit-or-miss. But either way it's a plus. I'm very loyal, good-natured, pure with a soft heart, have the best intentions, wildly optimistic, and I care. But I'm also versatile and can work on my own. I don't need group partners for support but will get along if I have to.

Interview the five people who know you the best

*note: Because I'm newly-moved from afar, the people who know me best are on apposite sides of the map from me with little ways of connecting face-to-face, so I don't know how to record video chats, and large voice recordings cannot be sent between devices with ease, so I took the painstaking liberty to type each interview up word for word. As for this being an interview, it is not one in the conversational sense. I did not go back and forth or add any input of my own because I did not want to sway the responses. I simply gave them the prompt and let them go on from there.

1)         "She is one of the most unique people I have ever met. Not only did she fly by high school with ease, despite being in multiple accelerated classes and clubs. But she has so much random, Jeapordy-esque knowledge too. Things like that make her quirky and interesting. Besides being one of the smartest people I know, She has never come off to me as boastful, or arrogant, or stuck up. She’s super down to earth and successful in other aspects of her life aside from academia. For example she’s more artistically talented than I could ever hope to be. Between her digital art, paintings and doodles, she can illustrate characters and emotions beautifully. And she compliments these with stories and novels which she writes in her free time. I find myself constantly admiring how she can put her creative energy to use to make such incredible work. As an adventurous person myself, she is someone I can count on to go into a new place or situation with an open mind and excited wonder with me. She’s so loyal to her loved ones. Despite being tired or overworked or insanely busy, when I, or anyone else she loves, needs her, she makes the time. And it’s never just half hearted. She pours her heart and soul into everything she does, which is what truly makes her one of the most remarkable people I know. Okay I’m done. I think that covered everything, and btw I meant every word."
Summary: Values my intelligence and perseverance in doing something with it, my fun-loving nature, and my artistic preferences. Enjoys my company in partaking in all of these things.

2)         "She has one of the most unique, creative, and smart minds I know. Her personality definitely stands out in a crowd. She is easy to get along with and have a conversation with. She is very determined and strong. She is someone who always thinks outside of the box and comes up with amazing creative ideas for everything in life. Which is an excellent quality to have when you are working in a competitive field. She is really artistic. Her work is one of a kind, it definitely speaks many volumes.
She is one of the most selfless people out there. She has a big heart. She always thinks of others and tries to help in any way possible. She is a good listener. She genuinely cares and is always very comforting."
Summary: Values my loving personality and devotion to problem-solving for other's. Enjoys my creative output.

3)         "She is one of the most unique people I've met. She radiates the characteristics of a leader and sticks up for what she believes in. There's been nothing in her way to keep her from reaching her motive. She looks at problems in a critical manner and is a hard core realist.
She has an artistic eye for things and never stops until the jobs done if she's motivated enough to do so. She is organized not only with calendars and dates but processes things carefully, schedules and monitors herself. She is an independent women and is very determined. I know she will grow up to accomplish wonderful things."
Summary: Values my courageous defense for what I believe in, exemplifying leadership and guidance. Loves my work ethic and productivity output.

4)         "So what I think makes you different is that you have a very diverse set of skills. You can sing, compose music with technology, draw, paint, free-style rap, write novels. You also make the time to actually do all these things along with all this college work, which is a skill on its own. Your mind also works quickly and creatively, like how you just whip out 6 pages of writing for an essay timed for 50 minutes. However, there are a few things about you that offend me. You don't eat the crust on the pizza. You never finish a full non-junior sized Moe's burrito. You're making me wait on the new Riverdale episodes because you don't live near here anymore. But those are only nit-picky things. YOU MAKE THE EDGES OF POPTARTS FEEL NEGLECTED I'M OFFENDED."
Summary: Enjoys my uncommon quirks that liven up mundane tasks. Appreciates things that come to me easy even if they themselves do not understand how it is possible or why I would enjoy such painstakingly time-consuming things.

5)         "You're different in so many spectacular ways. Your artistic ability is a no-brainer and it comes so naturally. I sincerely believe it helps you see the world differently in so many ways I never thought possible. Your kindness is breathtaking, even when you WANT to be a bad personal you simply can't. I really appreciate that you're someone I can always come to for advice, you have a level head and you're not afraid to speak your brilliant mind, even if it's on a subject you're not too familiar with."
Summary: Admires my wisdom when it comes to giving lifestyle advice and being a good person to vent to. Loves that I treat other's victories as a celebration of my own and that this is one of those 'unique perspectives' I obtain that others do not.

 Reflect on the differences

When comparing my own description to those of my interviewees, I was so pleased to realize that they agreed with me in my physical displays of talent (see, I wasn't bragging, it's just what I've been hearing about myself all this time). But what surprises me is that they give me much more credit in the personality department than I ever would. I am so happy that I have a clear and unbiased judgement of who I am, seeing as all these cross references agree and show the same exact trends in mentions. Therefore, I agree with them and wouldn't change a single thing, just like my loved ones. :)

  1. Heya Simoli, being ambitious is probably the most important trait I can think of when it comes to entrepreneurship! Not really related, but I too watch Riverdale as a guilty pleasure (Cole. Sprouse.). I'm glad you have a great sense of sass, though I feel that most creative people do. It takes brainpower and a beautiful mind to construct the best roasts...

It's really cool that your peers all pick up on and admire your creative talent. Definitely take pride in that, I'm sure it will lead you to success!!!!!
